Two questions [Mar. 25th, 2003|05:59 pm]
Paid Members

sandy, mother/employee, is off in Mexico this week so I got the job of running to the PO Box and processing check payments.

It got me thinking about payment related items....

Would those of you who prefer to pay by check/money order/cash be interested in getting a self-address envelope mailed to you a couple weeks before your expiration date, complete with renewal order number? All you'd have to do is include payment and a stamp? I figure the cost of two envelopes and a stamp is approximately the same as our credit card processing fees, and if it'd make it easier on you, why not?

Poll #116855 Renewal Envelopes

If you pay by postal mail, would you like an automatic renewal order/envelope sent to you a couple weeks before your account expires?

(Comments also invited)

Second question: Anybody experiencing problems with automatic renewal emails coming too late or not at all? We've had a few random complaints, but I'm not sure how big the problem is.

(and sorry this isn't a more interesting post... but whitaker starts his full-time LiveJournal internship in a week, and then we'll have double manpower on the hackin' front....)

Would you have any interest in storing members' check data on your secure server, and (with their explicit permission) having us print their checks, on their accounts, and mailing them to you weekly?

It's nice that LJ reminds you about your expiration. I think having an email sent would be even cheaper. That way one could print out the page or write down the renewal number, and mail in another payment like they did the first time.

If I did pay by check, I would really like the envelope thing, sounds uber convenient.

The first time my 2 months subscription was approaching an end, I got it early, the second time I was a couple days away from the deadline and never received one.

I think you should get an email a couple weeks before it expires, but no snail mail.

I dont know if anyone can or will reply to this and I dont know if it's been asked yet or not. But. what if someone bought me my first paid accout, would a reminder go to her? I don't see why not, she doesn't know my full postal address.

And is this just for the USA? Or will Canada and other countries be able to get this?

oh and a question. I just sent you guys my payment (first) today... I hope I made the check out right. I put it to Livejournal, is that right? j/w.

I put that paper in there too, with the order number and everything.

I just started using this, and am a newly paid participant. Ideal for me personally would be an email six-eight weeks before expiration, with the mailing info to arrive a month before expiration if I have not done so beforehand. I do prefer using checks/money order. Lengths of the paid time would change that for some I am sure. My suggestions are ideal to me for a 12 month period.

the courtesy would make me even more inclined to continue paying for lj. i'd feel you cared about my patronage, not just my money.

I love the idea, however, I wouldn't want the LJ logo on the envelpope. My hubby thinks I spend too much money on mail
The form would be muchas helpful, I don't have access to a printer. Without the hubby knowing
