Syndication
LiveJournal's syndication (RSS, RDF) is much improved from the last announcement. You can now add your own RSS feeds and see other popular feeds:

http://www.livejournal.com/syn/

It's not totally done, but it's getting there.

Servers
Apologies for the slowness. If you missed one of the recent news updates, we'd ordered new machines, got them, and they were all dead. We returned them to the vendor and ordered from somebody else.

So that second order should be arriving this week. One of the six items already came.

When that's all in (assuming it works, but it should), then we'll be good.

A syndication feed is multi-point publishing. You publish in one place (eg. LiveJournal), and syndicate your content to whoever wishes to retrieve it (eg. other websites or RSS readers)

RSS stands for RDF Site Summary (RDF stands for Resource Description Framework) or Rich Site Summary, you can see the RSS feed for a paid user by adding rss/ on the end of their address. eg.
http://www.livejournal.com/users/technodummy/rss/

You are a paid user, which means you can create RSS feeds in LiveJournal from external sources, see below for examples:
http://www.livejournal.com/syn/

Creating RSS feeds for your favourite websites can save you a lot of time... I barely visit http://slashdot.org now that I can simple watch slashdot on my friends page. This allows blogrolling, which

This also means that people can read your journal via an RSS reader if they wish, or republish your content somewhere else.
