Really? Down for the better part of half a day, shoddy connectivity on the best of days for the past few weeks, and paid users are refunded in... puppy pixels? Not too late, LJ, but far too little.
How about instead of cuddly puppies, you post some real information about the 4 week server problem which has never been acknowledged except in a place most people don't read on a regular basis?
I'm going to see this as a separate thing going on rather than as compensation for the site performance here, since the post didn't say anything about it being a compensation. =P

Puppies are well and fine, but what's up with LJ being pretty much unaccessible for the past 2-3 days? A friend of mine said they can access the website fine, except for my LJ... I can access the website, communities etc. when not logged in, but as soon as I log into my account the website slows down or in most cases doesn't respond at all. Did I just miss a note about maintenance downtime or something? I thought paid members had a faster working LJ. :(

Seriously? Free puppies but nothing about the mess that LJ has been for the last several weeks? Umm, how is this good business sense? Or do you all think you have enough users that pay that are soooo loyal they'll continue to pay? Is that the reason why you haven't given any sort of explanation about what is going on (other than the tech forum which often has so much tech talk a lot of the users can't understand it)?
In this economy, it would be nice for those of us putting money in LJ's bank account if LJ would respond in kind by giving us at least a free month of service. At this point that's the only thing that's going to give me a reason to renew.
