Also, any chance the stats page could in the future include things like "top ten all-time most-looked-at pages" and "oldest page that got hits in the time period you looked at" and so on? That sort of thing is what makes statistics fun!
This feature seems to work pretty well! Thank you, LJ!!
Any chance that the comments stats could be backdated? After all, you have all of the comments, so adding the numbers in for the whole history of my journal should be doable (if a bit slow to calculate in the first place).
This might be a stupid question, but are my own viewings of my journal accounted for in the stats? because I can't really believe that amount of visits I have if it were just other people.
From the original post (my emphasis):
Page views — think of this as a hitcounter. It includes every time someone can see your journal or entries, including on their Friends page, someone else viewing the Friends page of one of your friends. A new "hit" is recorded every time your Journal or entries are looked at (so if someone visits their friends page multiple times during the day, for instance, a new "hit" is recorded for each time they do so). It also includes *your* pagehits to your entries or journal.
Ah, this finally works for everyone (well, at least for every paid account), not only for sup users!
I still use Distopia to view my lj; can you tell me where to find the Stats option in that?
I'm not sure where you would want to click to get there on your own in Distopia, but the quick link is here
. I'm using one of the older view-styles, so have bookmarked that page for easy access in the future.
Jumping on the "waiting for community stats" bandwagon. ^_^
I'm really disappointed that you're going to start forcing people to select a gender. Please include an option for "no answer/other" to accommodate trans people and those who are truly born without a gender because of their genetic make up. I understand that you want to target your advertising better, but don't do it at the expense of inclusiveness.
Sweet stuff. :D Thanks a bunch!
Dumb question, but if my journal is locked to "friends only" how do I have page views/visits by people who are NOT logged in users let alone friends? Under my stats, and journal, it listed the page views (gray shaded) as much higher than those for the brown and blue bar areas (friends and logged in live journal users). Should that be a concern? Privacy is the reason I have a paid account, according to the statistics listed...not looking too private.
People can still navigate to your journal page, even if they can't see anything on it. Also, the page views is going to include multiple visits from the same person, unless I understand this entirely wrong.
MUY BUENA IDEA...FELICITACIONES...AND HAPPY NEW YEAR...
I'm not finding "My Stats" under the "Journal" heading. My layout doesn't look like the one in this post, and it's not a sidebar type. I believe it's the original one. Help!
Older site schemes don't get updated for new features. The direct link is here: http://www.livejournal.com/statistics/
I'm not sure if the FAQ for this is up yet, but everybody can view the FAQs and the FAQs have links to whatever feature, if you happen to lose the link.
still don't see any stats at all under the "guests" tab even though i've refreshed the page multiple times over the last 3 hrs.
