Re: What? no link to LJ Biz too?
We linked to it in the news post and thought that was enough, but I'll add it to this post too.
With all the unfortunate errors in LJ Land as of late, I think the powers-that-be should raffle off a few permanent accounts to paid members.
Just a thought.
hehe, I support this idea. ;)
Shit i wish i had a "DO NOT WANT" macro handy.
Sorry. After last month's fuss and mess Im not sure LJ is still going to be a place I'm going to want to be around in five years time, or that I really want that muc of my money to go in that direction. Fusses die down, but there are always consequences.
Yep. I wonder how many of us turned off automatic repay as a result and if 6A is bothering to analyze that and changes in renewals?
I want to stay here because I like my FL, but I'd like to see the new TOS and get some other assurances before I even bother renewing as a paid account. There's no way I'm going to shell out for a perm at this point.
I'm afraid SixApart are proving too stupid (suspending accounts on the say-so of neo-Nazis, the breastfeeding icon thing before that) to give any of my money to after January. Nor am I sure what would remedy this. Oh well. I'm sure you'll think of something.
breastfeeding icon thing
Please explain..I know about the suspended journals, but I have no idea what the breastfeeding thing is about.
I'd rather pay yearly and have the option of walking out if things get out of hand. *shrugs* To each their own though.
Technically speaking, even if you did have a perm account you could still walk out. You'll be out of some money yes, but you would be too if you paid yearly and decided to walk during that time. Maybe less money that way but still out of money regardless.
YESSSSSSSSSSSS finally! I've been waiting all month!
Yeah right, we'll all hand over our hard earned dosh just to be 'suspended' because we said the word 'pedo' or waved pics of boobies and babies at unsuspecting folks.
Oh and the no mailing comments is a drag.
So I'm not the only one without email notifications? Geez, not again.

dealing with the issues
The E.F.F. certainly deserves money.
That is all well and good.
Everytime Barak sits down at the computer, he botches things terribly.
So now we have "protect the children" [interesting fundie phrase], "objectionable" vs. "acceptable," "voting," "standards," ..........to the point of throw-up
and yous want me to cough up my hard-earned bisexual bucks for a permaccount.
Clue One: Only if it is a present or a gift.
In Barak's last post over at lj_news, he appealed for folks to join the abuse team cuz they need help.
Anyone else up for it.
Oh I forgot. There is that little matter in their profile description of how we conduct ourselves in live journal public.
B.T.W., yes that is quite right, LJ/6A does not have to give us an electronic vehicle for freedom of electronic expression.
However, when that has been a company platform for advertising services to bloggers-- well, this whole thing has been piss-poor performance.
Forget it L.J.
For 30 bucks, I got me a permaccount over at Insane Journal, and 300 icons forever for 10 bucks more, and an assurance that the only way anything will be removed is if Insane Journal receives a takedown order.
I'll be here until I am kicked and will be reverting back to non-paid once my year of paid is over with if I last that long.
If I do get banned, I will make myself a snazzy icon and display it on all of my other blogs in other places, including two domains that I own.
Owch... y'all should have waited a couple of months on this one.
Agreed. XD I still adore my Permanent Account, but LJ shoulda done something to win back the confidence of its users before asking them for large sums of money.
After that whole delete debacle, I would not get a perm. LJ. Besides, weren't they 100.00 at one time?
Why should I give anything to a company that hasn't made up for their mistakes?
Not to mention the fact that pedo journals were reinstated anyway, LJ has no back bone in any direction.
In reference to cost, back in 2005 they were $150. If they were sold prior to that at a lower price I do not know.
