this is the reason i've bought a paid account. - i have a couple paid accounts actually, different usernames. this is such a joke and you guys are taking so long to get this matter cleared up. i hope you offer time credits for accounts that are paid outside of the US.
Yay! Back to voice posting like no ones business ^^
Apparently not. I guess us non-US customers aren't that important...
I agree with the suggestion: i hope you offer time credits for accounts that are paid outside of the US.
I live in the US and haven't used this yet, since the number's changed, but I know a LOT of people are outside of the US that would like to make voice posts - that they're paying for with their paid account - while they are unable to get to their computer - or just to do it.
I hope you guys get something figured out soon and give some sort of credit for all users who should be able to use this feature, but cannot due to where they live - since they were once able to.
Only the continental US? I'm in Hawaii, and was wondering if that means I can't use it...then again, I'm in like the only area (or one of few) where calling in your area code can count as long distance, if it's a different island, so I assume it would count as long distance to call to the mainland. oh well.
Why the hell is everyone all "Thank you LJ!"? Thank you for what, pretty much ripping them off?
"Pay 4 voice posts...oh noes, it broke but thx 4 teh monies lolz!!!11"
curious here... I was hoping to use this service on my upcoming trip to Hawaii since internet access will be touchy... but you say the # is for continental US...
does this mean I can't use it in Hawaii?
or are we just not sure yet?
KPN might world for the dutch international number?
Seriously, you have to fix this ASAP. Like a lot of other people with paid accounts who do not live in the US, I am being screwed around. We expect to be compensated for the inability to use a feature we have paid for.
If the VP feature isn't going to work for all paid users, then it should be removed from the Paid Account Features notice as not all paid users are in the continental US. It isn't fair to tout a service that only works for some users as a feature for all users of that service. Seriously. Pardon my French, but you're seriously fucking over a lot of users.
I've skimmed through these posts and it looks like you guys are totally avoiding everyone's questions. I've been with LJ for years now and really love my account. I didn't specifically put money on my account for voice posts, but am seriously annoyed by the fact that you don't seem to care about your non US customers. Guess what!? A whole bunch of us LJ users don't live there!!! Here are a few figures:
New Zealand (Aotearoa) (16652)
Russian Federation (445528)
United Kingdom (242513)
GET WITH THE PROGRAM!
Can you please just give me one US number that I can call that's not 1-800 from the old list? I don't mind paying the charges, but I still want to be able to make phone posts! After all, it was one of ther reasons I got a paid account back in the day!
Okay, now you're working my bits, LJ.
We pay for all these little add ons. The journal's free. Show me what I'm paying for, okay? Seriously.
Stop avoiding all of our questions. It's been well over a month now -- what's the word?
Heck, I can't even get the number to work tonight...It starts the process, does the beep, then acts like I've already recorded the message and goes into the "To play back you message," schpeal.
Kinda annoying LJ, kinda annoying...
Yeah, that's what I'm getting. I'm gutted because I wanted to post from a football match this evening and now I won't be able to. This sucks.

Voice Posting From Other Countries
I live in Canada, and really miss voice posting.
That is the main reason I had a paid account. I guess I could use Gizmo to voice post, but I like to have the option of being away from the computer when posting.
I hope you can find a way to get other access numbers again. Since I can call anywhere in Canada or the United States for free, I don't even care if the number is toll-free or not.
