Re: feeling it
no! better yet, fixit!
i'm so confused i've registered my mobile number.........but i cannot make a call because i live in england??
can you please setup one non-toll-free number so people outside the US can use it?
(I have free calling to the US as many people do, but because your toll free number doesn't accept canadian calls, I can't use it)
I'm from Canada, and I'm pretty sure Bell
has service in most of the country.
Before the switch, I was willing to pay the long-distance charges to the United States to make my voice posts. Hell, I was willing to pay the charges to the US when I was in the UK! So if us non-US people are willing to pay money on top of our paid accounts to make voice-posts, why did you take the option away?! Seems like a pretty stupid business tactic to me.
Not quite a choice, heh -- our original phone provider flaked out. We're seeing what we can do to set up alternatives.
I've never made a voice post before, because I live in an area that didn't have a local access number. I didn't mind not having access to that feature as a paid account person, because I figure I'm getting my money's worth with the other goodies -- but I must admit, I am very pleased about the toll-free number! First voice post, here I come!
Have there been any updates on getting a Canadian number set up?
I literally bought a paid account today for the main reason of making voice posts, and silly me, didn't check to make sure that they were still possible from Canada. waahh.
Do you have any updates on this issue? I have several friends who have now decided not to renew accounts over this voice post issue. I finally got the 888 number to work, but my international friends are completely SOL it appears.
Cool, this is great! I was fairly irritated that numbers still didn't exist for half of the states (including mine), but this solves everything! Now I can make voice posts.
Well both me and my wife are considering not paying for our accounts any more. This is outrageous. For a site that likes to profess to serve the public and all of a sudden the free voice post is taken from us...you know there are other countries in the world other than the US.
I am sick and tired of paid account holders getting the bum deal. Is LJ turnnig into Microsoft in wanting us to tell them how to run the show? It is not our job to tell them the numbers for international calling. A little research from the LJ guys would have come up with several solutions. I mean some users have probably just googled to find providers. No, instead they are probably working on sappy things like putting roses on peoples User Info for a dolalr liek they did last year.
Come on LJ, remember that without the paid members you would cease to exist.
I completely agree with you.
I love how burr86
has made comments back to other users, but as soon as someone makes a reasonable argument for being reimbursed or genuine frustration, those comments get mysteriously overlooked.
ugh, why is it ALWAYS only the States?! There are a lot of customers in Canada! Like me'self!
Don't get me wrong, that's pretty damn cool, and it's the time of the day to complain for me, but grrr.
is the number always busy??
It's not working correctly. It isn't the Livejournal recording for voice posts. It's...something else. For me, anyway.
Uh oh -- what are you getting? And are you sure you're dialing the number correctly?
Oh, never mind! I saved it on my phone, but I must have typed it in wrong. I'm so so sorry.
No problem! Glad to hear it's working for you. :)
