Looks good! :D
Sweet, now I can track drama more easily!
There's drama on LJ? Where? [grin]
best feature to happen in a loooong time! thanks LJ :D
How is getting a notification about someone leaving a comment in your lj any different then getting comments mailed to you?
Right now some of the functionality is duplicated, but eventually we're going to merge the two together -- that way, you can manage all your email settings all on one page. (This won't happen for a while, though. Not until we're 100% sure that this works well and we make sure we haven't inadvertently broken anything. *g*)
mostly cool. :)
is this why i'm getting double notification replies on some comments though? it started happening this weekend.
and, thirding the birthday notifications!
Yep! See http://community.livejournal.com/lj_releases/6366.html
for a list of known issues -- duplicate notifications is one of them. (We erred on the side of duplicate notifications, instead of accidentally not sending any notifications at all! It'll take us a little while to iron out the kinks :)
Very, very cool! I think I'm going to love this.
.. any chance of getting notifications when someone votes in a poll?
It's been suggested, but I don't know when it'll happen -- but man, I want that too! I'll see about getting it added to the list of things we want to do at some point. :)
LiveJournal, have I ever told you that I love you?
Oh god, your icon lol.
And this seems like a nifty feature. => I'm glad to hear you've thought of the security issue on notifications.
This is the kind of exciting that makes you want to tinkle. :D
You win the BEST COMMENT EVER award. :D
I read above that you'll add a functionality whereby we can change the images used for it, in customized layouts. Thanks. That will be a welcome change. Will you be posting an announcement here when that feature is available, together with the necessary code?
Also, I'm looking at my own journal and am not seeing the track button in individual entries (but they're there in every comment). I have the setting enabled whereby I'll receive notifications for all entries, so is that why the track button is not showing up? Or is it not showing up because of my customized layout? Just checking.
I'll announce here, yeah. I'm not sure why it's not showing up in your layout -- I took a quick 5-second look over your customizations and nothing's popping up at me -- but it's likely due to your customized layout. It looks like your "function Entry::print_linkbar()" code isn't displaying the track links, which is why you're not seeing them. I can't help you fix this code (I'm *so* not the right person to ask *g*) but maybe there's someone you know who can?
Count the tinkling people, Andy! :-D
Cool. :) BTW, out of curiosity, is the limit on the number of events you can subscribe to 1000 for permanent members as well (just like for paid users), or is it even higher in that case?
Right now, it's 1000 for paid and permanent, yeah.
AWESOME. I've been waiting for something like this.
In response to the concerns about stalking, would it be possible to implement something where it tells you if a non-friend is tracking X of your things? I mean, it's understandable that a non-friend might track a busy, interesting public post, but it gets a bit creepy when someone's tracking more than that.
is free and will do that for you, for now.
