We’ve just added a fun new feature for Paid and Permanent account holders: the userpic selector! To try it out, just hit the new “Browse” button next to your userpic dropdown on the Update Journal, Edit Entry and “Quick Reply” comment forms.

You can scroll through thumbnail previews of your userpics as well as search for them by keywords. This feature is an excellent tool for those of you who have a ton of userpics.

UPDATE: Some people have mentioned that they can't get the userpic selector to work when they're commenting on posts in communities. Please try reloading the page (SHIFT+Refresh, or clear your cache) to get the updated files, and try again.

It would be nice to have an "edit comment" feature, that way if someone makes an error when posting a comment they can edit it instead of deleting and reposting. Someone direct me to the LJ suggestion area.

Here.

Also, that is a bad idea just because people who debate/argue can change what they originally said so as to confuse lots of people. It's kind of opening the door to a lot of abuse and quite frankly SHENANIGANS.

Yeah, but the OP can already do that with her main entry. If that hasn't caused Armageddon yet, why all the predictions of doom if people can do the same thing with comments?

Not to mention, as long as the comment notification emails are working, people will always have, and be able to produce copies of, the original un-edited comment. So there's a certain amount of policing already built into the system.

Aw, and here I was almost hoping for a knowledgeable smackdown. A while back I saw someone from LJ explain that this was why they wouldn't and couldn't give us an editable comments feature, even though they knew that everybody really wanted it. And I thought, "Hmm, fair point," and wandered off again without really examining it.

Only then I considered it a second time and realized it made no sense at all. So I keep hoping that I'll eventually find an explanation that does make sense, or some reason why I'm wrong about why that one doesn't. I'd really, really like to see those editable comments, and it would be . . . annoying . . . to think that LJ's refusing to bother with a feature so desirable to so many for no good reason at all.

What they do now is "delete" the entire comment.. So it's really not much of a difference. But of course the option I speak of would show the comment was edited and show the date/time it was done.

Thanks for the link
