|3 months bonus time offer ends 10/15
||[Oct. 13th, 2005|10:05 am]
The three months of bonus paid time offer that we announced with the launch of automatic payments ends this Saturday, October 15, 2005 at 11:59 pm Pacific. Anyone with active paid account status on 8/14/05 (the date of the original announcement) is eligible to receive three months of bonus paid time when you switch your account to automatic payments and select the 12-month billing cycle. Read the fine print. |
By the way, our auto-magical new system will take into account your remaining paid time and prorate your charges. For example, if you have six months of remaining paid time and you sign up for automatic payments on a 12-month billing cycle, then you’ll have a total of 15 months of paid time and only be charged $9.98 (half of $19.95). Automatic payments can only be setup using a credit or debit card.
Update: For those of you who have taken advantage of this promotion, you can visit the paid account manage page to see when your 3 months of bonus time will apply. Your "next bill amount" may show a non-zero amount but instead of a charge the promotion time will be applied. At the end of the 3 month promotion time your regular billing cycle will resume.
I signed up for it today and was charged $18.71, which seems to be the prorating for the one month I have left on my paid time. Are you sure the three months are prorated up front?
when does your paid account expire?
oct 15th 2006 or jan 15 2007?
October 15, although the automated payments screen says that the three months were added.
If you are talking about the free three months, you get those when your first recurring payment is taken out, one year after you sign up for recurring payments. So, you signed up for recurring payments on 10-13. Presuming your account was on paid status on 8-14, when you are billed on 10-13-06, you would get the three months free at that time. From what I understood when I did this back in August, your card would be billed for the 19.95 next year, but you would be paid up for 15 months... making your account's paid status until 12-13-07.
Oh yeah, and this applies to add ons as well (extra icons/data space)
Gah! My brain was not working. Expiration after your next payment (10-2006) would be January 2008, not December 2007.
Ok, thank you! I wasn't too worried, but the results were not what I was expecting. It's good to know there's nothing to worry about! :)
Not up front, but when you're billed again. So, you signed up today and were charged $18.71 -- on October 13, 2006, your bill will come due again, and you'll be charged for 9 months and get 12.
