You guys should open the offer to people that get paid accounts during the last week or something. I notice that most of the offers pertain to people that are paid at that time and people always comment about having just expired.
I know I would be more likely to renew if there was an offer, and I'm sure other people would too.
I posted a reminder in my LJ. I know a few of my friends have already done it.
I never quite figured this out...
So if I sign up on October 15, on October 15, 2006, will I get billed $19.95 and receive 12+3 months of paid time, or will I get billed for 9 months worth and get 12 months?
The +3 is applied after the 12mos ends and you're still on automatic payments. I would assume this means that the second payment is prorated?
I did it a few days ago, because I knew I'd forget if I didn't get it done. Hope people remember!
Erm...the "announced" link is broken and sad...
seems to be working okay now :) (Deleted comment)
don't suppose there's support for UK debit cards? maestro/switch/solo?
otherwise i'll have to stick to paypal, i guess.
They aren't just "UK" debit cards. Maestro is an international Debitm card system operated by Europe and Mastercard - it's massive and all Switch, Maestro and Solo cards support the Maestro system.
Any international company should support payment by it, esp. if they want any European customers to use it.

Question About Extras | (Link)

Between the pro-rating for the initial subscription and the 3 months bonus time, I'm confused how the billing for extra user pics will work. If I add 100 pic capacity today, it says that I'll be charged $29.95 every 12 months, but that means the pics will actually be getting renewed off-sync with the basic subscription... doesn't it?
To be specific, my account next expires at the end of February. I'm pro-rated to about $12 for journal cost if I go onto auto-pay today, and will get 7 months of account, and 12 months of pictures. So would I then get charged $20 in May for my next 12 months of journal time and $10 next October for a year of pictures? Or $30 in May?
I was wondering about this too. I was going to do it but it didn't seem to be pro-rating my user pics and I don't wanna get ripped off. Even for $1 LOL. (Deleted comment)
If you go in to start the process, the system will tell you automatically, before you put in your billing info.
Thanks for the reminder. I went to do it before, but was waffling on whether I'd really USE the extra Icons, and never finished the transaction. ;) (Deleted comment)
Well, that's kind of the gimmick - you get the 3 months free for switching, like a "gift" sort of thing.
I have the same cat icon!
When I saw it I thought you might like this one. Feel free if you'd like it.
You do know paypal has an auto-debit feature as well? I use it for domain reg's among other things.
So if I renew right now (my account is paid until next month) I'd be charged for 8 months (in proportion that would should be $ 13.30) right now for this year and the next automatic payment would be the usual $ 19.95 due October 2006, which then would automatically be paid from my credit card?
Did I do the maths right? It totally confuses me...
Oh and... what happens if I stop the automatic payment before that? And how can I stop automatic payments at all? (Deleted comment) |
