Our thoughts and best wishes go out to all of our LiveJournal family affected by Hurricane Katrina. To help take one of the worries off the minds of our users in the affected areas, we've extended any paid accounts held by anyone who lives in the areas by one month, to prevent anyone from losing time during disruptions, outages, and other problems.|
If you know of anyone in the affected areas who didn't receive an email from us this afternoon, please have them contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can help them out. Our system let us identify most of the accounts affected, but not all.
I was hit by the hurricane..and my whole town is in pretty rough shape in Mississippi. I appreciate this a lot! So, all you naysayers can suck it.
YAY! Awesome thing LJ is doing!
that is so nice of you :)
and even tho I am not in one of the areas you mention thanks :)
Thank you so much, LJ! This user loves ya bunches!
What a nice thing to do for them. Thanks!
Thank you so much. I was one of the many affected by this horrible storm that had no mercy on my home.
It's one small easy thing LJ can do to make stuff easier and it's much appreciated.
Never mind the self-appointed saints who've come in to shit on the parade to feel all sanctimonious.. maybe it's like warm raw hamburger between their toes or something, gives them that nice squishy feeling.. I mean really. Who knows what their kink is, and who cares?... assholes!
Thank you from a New Englander who's been able to at least hear that friends in the disaster zone are alive and safe, via LJ posts however they accomplished it.
You're an idiot.
For starters, Danga Interactive, Inc. saving each victim of the disaster a whopping $5 is nothing to celebrate. You call that throwing a "parade?"
Using the term "sanctimonious" (a feeble attempt to look smart and quick-tongued, no doubt), was totally out of place. Who's being self-righteous? It's all common-fucking-sense that people need more than a free month of LiveJournal down there. They need food, medicine and a government that acually cares about its citizens.
Next time you call people who think about the bigger picture "assholes," maybe you should consider what you're typing yourself.

Noble gesture - go, you guys!
But I do have a question:
Why have all the comments on the "Interdictor" journal vanished (save the last thread)?
I have never encountered that before. I realize, though, that we all have probably not encountered such a fast growing and huge journal, as well... Still. I would be glad to hear what's up with that.
He's disabled comments on his journal (or on all posts other than the one you mention), so previously posted comments don't show up either.
Ford Motor Company is waiving two months of payments on anyone with a car loan from Ford that was affected. I think a two month extension is more in order, as I HIGHLY DOUBT that those affected will be back to "normal life" in only one month.
However, as LJ is not required to do ANYTHING, i comment the offer of one month.
That's nice. x3 They'll be happy. :D
I've said it before and I'll say it again. You people are awesome. ^^
Wow, there's a lot of ungrateful fucks on here.
Nice job lj- and I think the posts from several people affected by this tragedy thanking you for what you're doing should matter about a million times more than snide remarks from others.
