Comparisons between Ogg Vorbis and other formats show that it is a strong performer at low(er) bitrates. (Actually, that's kind of what I meant.)

Assuming this to be true, (pulling numbers out of my ass) if you need 32kbps MP3 to reproduce phone-quality audio, you might only need 24kbps Ogg Vorbis.

This smaller file size handily translates into lower disk usage, lower bandwidth utilization, and quicker downloads for clients.
