lj-confusion

Ugh. I'm sorry, dude. I wrote you that comment before because I thought you were referring to this icon. Since I was replying through e-mail, I couldn't see my previous post. Oops.

*That* icon (the "Leaving Brooklyn" icon) was taken from a pic I found on Webshots. (http://www.webshots.com) It's a picture of an actual sign in Brooklyn, New York. You would see it on your way to Staten Island, New York.

I love those signs.

I'm really after the one on the Kosciuzko Bridge.

Funny, I was just in Brooklyn a week ago, and that sign is still there. As for the picture, I don't know if it's copyrighted or if it's part of the public domain. If only I had a camera on hand to take a non-blurry, non-copyright picture of that sign.

Speaking of bridges, I visited the Roebling Bridge near Narrowsburg a few years ago. No clever welcome signs, but a really interesting piece of history.

oh shit. Are you stalking me? My parents have a house in Narrowsburg!

Stalking? Nah, that's not my style. I always do a little bit of investigating before I comment back to new people - it gives me an idea of who I'm writing. If the person seems like an (as you say in your LJ user info) "emo child" who is likely to flame me, I don't bother commenting back.

FWIW, My grandparents had a summer house in Dingmans' Ferry, about 30 minutes south of Port Jervis. It was a nice respite from Sunset Park for many summers.

heh, that was just bizarre to me that you'd mention Narrowsburg randomly. Most people have never heard of that tiny town.

I've got about a week left in the city before heading back to CA and I just might have to position myself in the middle of rush hour one day to get a clear shot of some of those signs. Apparently there are 9 total, and I want nice pics of them all!
