You should work on making livejournal not so shitty nowadays before you start going "Oooh! Look here's stuff new stuff we did...now pay for it." I cannot tell you now many times I've tried to post or comment on someone's journal and I get get a message that its in Read-only mode. That is crap. Pure f-ing crap. Fix it first before you want me to buy more crap from you.

A few years ago...

... A few years back I'd gone into some chatroom; it was on Yahoo I think. Actually it was one of their online games, now I think about it. I was typing away and some of my language was a little more colourful that it needed to be. A girl there - she was 13 - said: 'no need for potty mouth'. She was right. :)

I'm just talking in the sense of commenting in one of the official public communities; not your personal journal and such, that's your business.

The disk space stuff has been worked on for months and the recent admittedly unfortunate read-only messages experienced with/by free journals are not related. It's frustrating when one thing looks like it's being worked on and not the next, but different people in the small team work on different things; so those that only work on (let's say) user interface stuff just keep working away at that when there might be some other code issue but one that requires very specialised work and experience of that part of the codebase.

excuse me, but does this new addition explain why my pics hosted on photobucket are not loading properly on lj now???

photobucket allows for album titles to include spaces and encodes it with %20 and now all my pics with such codes don;t show up on lj... they used to before!!!

hey are u guys having problems with peoples icon galleries? Random peoples icons and pictures are showing up in my paid account..whats going on? how do i get rid of them and get my icons back?

No, this entry is not about commenting errors. You need to ask a question like that over in Support.

This community is for users with paid accounts (which yours is not, any longer) to receive paiduser-specific updates from LiveJournal staff. You can click here to leave this community.

The Support area provides technical support and help, you might also want to follow lj_maintenance rather than this community so you can keep track of any problems. Good luck.

Perhaps, for those of us that don't upload photos, you could give us extra icon space instead. I use photobucket for my pix, but would love to be able to have more than 50 icons.

(note to self.....pay for extra icon space)

I agree with the fact that having it in any other format would be great... I specifically got my paid account just so I could do phone posts from my vacation but when I got home, I found out that no one could listen to my posts because of the ogg format :( hence why i haven't done a phone post since august.. :(

All of this is great, but I (and other users) wish that you guys could spend a smidge more time on the read-only mode for paid users who aren't being able to update hardly ever. I have to keep retrying to post multiple times a day to do so and I've taken the advice from the kind person who answered my support request and nothing's happened. I'm not being able to post, comment, NOTHING. I've had a paid account for going on 2 years now and I'm beginning to feel ripped off for the first time in ages. :( If you guys could address this issue to those who are suffering from this (and not just to log out and log back in..or that it's an 'on and off' type issue..because surely, it's not on my end off and on..it's an almost constant...not just with commenting to free users either.), that would be so great you guys!

I am so, so sorry to be contacting you this way, though I do hope somebody sees it.

I am unable to submit a support request through the GUI. I have attempted multiple times in both Safari and Firefox, over a period of perhaps eight weeks. I just get an error after I click submit. Refreshing the page does not help, nor does deleting cookies, logging out and back in, or restarting.

I don't know how else to go about contacting one of the support staff. I do have a support request, so if somebody could tell me another way to submit it (short of buying a PC or installing IE), I would be very grateful.

Paid Account

Can I ask you a question. For christmas a friend of mine gave me a paid Live Journal thing as a gift. My live Journal has always been the free acount. I never paid for it, but since it was x-mas gift given to me automatically what can I do?

My question is that my "paid account" expires in June of this year. I want to have it back as a free account as it use to not pay. When My paid live journal account expire, will my Live Journal automatically be turned back the way I use to have it (Free account) or will the whole Live Journal of mine be deleted completely?

I hope you can help to ansswer me : )

It's quite a potential. Those who are veteran LJers have to help those that aren't. Honestly, if the staff sat hare and answered all of these stupid questions... who would work on the site?
So.... it's up to us. Raise these children to be good little LJers... who may one day help others.

Or... I'm just addicted. And I'm the onlyone who thinks this way. In such case - ignore me. ;p
