if it will help get my LJ out of read only mode... its happening ridiculously way too often... the old owners of LJ were never like this.
Getting a paid account is all you need to get your PERSONAL JOURNAL out of read only mode, this has nothing to do with that. This is just a scam to get more money.

I'm not buying into your scam...
Thanks for making a post begging for money, asshat. You offer some grossly overpriced deals for more disk space that no one needs under the guise of "testing" when you really are just begging for more money. If this was legitimate, that's even sadder that you need to make this announcement to have users to test stuff you should be able to test yourselves. Either it's a money-begging con or you guys are just shitty developers. Either way, F--.
And you guys only sit there jacking off all days. After weeks and even months of work the best change you come up with is something trivial like a disk upgrade option. Don't fool us into thinking that your developers are actually doing any real work. I'm currently going to do an analsis of your code via CVS to expose you for the frauds you are, doing very little actual work on code.

Who lit the fuse on your tampon?
I've really enjoyed the Fotobuilder service but the pricing is way too high for upgrades. Hope you work out something more reasonable, because the service really is worth some sort of payment.
Aside from that, care to comment on the mass hysteria that is Frienditto? Good? Evil? Confirm/Deny *points microphone*
OH GOD BLAH BLAH BLAH WHERE IS OUR ACTION ON FRIENDITTO!!
STICK IT UP YOUR CUNT-HOLE, DICKLESS.
$100 for 1GB is a little high. I'm happy with just using the 8GB of space I have for my own personal website, thanks.
I'd appreciate y'all spending more time on all the damn "read only" ljs instead of trying to sell us on more disk space when we only have a limited amount of file types we can upload.
Yes, I'm a paid user, but most of my friends, and the community I moderate (with over 300 members) are free, and it's awfully frustrating to have to click "post" about 17 times before a comment or a post is actually posted. Furthermore, most of my community members are getting pretty sick of it, as well. Is this just a ploy to get free users to buy paid accounts, so they no longer have to deal with the "read only" crap? I can understand a cluster being "read only" for a few hours, even a day, but this has been going on for a month now. It's ridiculous.

It's not a ploy so much as the fact that they're incompetent and are deliberately not bothering to hire someone competent to fix the problem. They basically turn a blind eye so that they can continue to encourage people to buy paid accounts without actually directly creating the problems.

USE PHOTOBUCKET INSTEAD
It's $9 for 3 months and you get UNLIMITED storage space. They only bother you if you actually use >2.5GB of space to work out a new deal. This goes to show what total fraudulent liars the LJ people are. You can check out any service, nto just photobucket and you'll find it's much, mucher cheaper.
Everyone: Go do some googling and you'll be astonished at how overpriced LJ is being. They have a huge profit margin.

Eh, but if you want to store things other than images, using someting liek Dreamhost is a good idea.
I'd consider the extra disk space... If those of us in Canada were able to use phone posts...

You *can* dial to the USA, but it costs.
I'm not talking about paying for paid membership vs. disk space. I'm talking specifically about paying for extra user pictures. They shouldn't be included in with this, since they really aren't going to give you extra space for more user pictures specifically with this deal, so I believe, so why is it mentioned?
I agree with another poster on here. I don't use Fotobilder, nor do I make phone posts, as I just don't have a reason too. (I have a domain with tons of space if I want to upload pictures or what not.) But, if we could have more than 50 user pictures, I'd lay down a couple extra bucks for that. As I'm sure many others would as well.
Lord, I used to think 50 was all I'd ever need, but I find myself becoming an icon-whore.
WELL YOU JUST DO THAT MISTER CODE POLICE
