In light of the rough periods we've experienced during the past couple of weeks, outgrowing our network topology & being attacked in a Distributed Denial of Service, we thought it only fair to give back some of your paid time.

Those of you who had a paid account during the month of June are eligible for an instant 2 weeks of free service, even if your paid account has since expired. Alternatively, if you have plans to purchase 6 or 12 months of service during the next week, you're eligible to receive 2 additional months of service for free. Both offers can be found for the next 7 days on the Paid Time Reimbursement page, and they apply to any eligible account you manage (communities, etc).

We apologize for the recently spotty service, but as always we're working hard to overcome these challenges.


We'd like to clarify that the 2 month option is only available for payments that have been fully processed, so it can take a while for the reimbursement page to update with the proper option. If you only see the 2 week option on the reimbursement page, either refresh the page or wait until your payment has totally cleared (Our credit card processing should be instant, but PayPal payments can sometimes take hours to clear).

Note: We're still running into some issues checking for accounts that have expired in the past month, and there are still some instances where people are getting "you are ineligible" errors. We're working as fast as we can to fix these problems, so please be patient. I'll update this post again when I have more information.

Update: We've made a couple of changes for eligibility checks, so if you were getting the "you are ineligible" error before you should try again.

I had a paid account during june. it just expired the other day.
when i go to the reimbursement page, it says im not eligible

That's wonderful news, but how do those of us that never got the "2 month" button and clicked the "2 week" button get this fixed so we get our 2 months?

My account was expiring on 6/26. Due to LJ being down all over the place, I couldn't even get in to re-up at the time. The system says I'm not eligible for any free time though.

Hello!

I had a paid account through June 22nd-ish. When I click on the link for the Paid Time Reimbursement page it says that I'm not currently eligible to receive any paid time.

First, I agree that this is a wonderful option. I do think that the information on the reimbursement page was unclear, though. It said that two months was available if you extended for 6-12 months, and that you should just return to that page after paying -- without clarifying that it would be necessary to wait for an information update. Like several others, it seems, I was directed to the reimbursement page by a helpful user who didn't point to this announcement, where it clearly states that one should wait. Hence, I only got the 2-week extension after buying an additional 6-months, not the 2-months. If it's not changeable, I'm still happy about the two weeks, but if I can get the additional 2 months, that would be even better!

Same issue here.... They say "please let us know" but they give us no method of doing that. The support link isn't a direct line to the developers - it is only manned by other users who volunteer their time...

So.... HOW do we let them know? Obviously they aren't bothering to read this thread anymore.
