Paid Time Reimbursement [Jun. 30th, 2004|05:58 pm]

[jproulx]
In light of the rough periods we've experienced during the past couple of weeks, outgrowing our network topology & being attacked in a Distributed Denial of Service, we thought it only fair to give back some of your paid time.

Those of you who had a paid account during the month of June are eligible for an instant 2 weeks of free service, even if your paid account has since expired. Alternatively, if you have plans to purchase 6 or 12 months of service during the next week, you're eligible to receive 2 additional months of service for free. Both offers can be found for the next 7 days on the Paid Time Reimbursement page, and they apply to any eligible account you manage (communities, etc).

We apologize for the recently spotty service, but as always we're working hard to overcome these challenges.

We'd like to clarify that the 2 month option is only available for payments that have been fully processed, so it can take a while for the reimbursement page to update with the proper option. If you only see the 2 week option on the reimbursement page, either refresh the page or wait until your payment has totally cleared (Our credit card processing should be instant, but PayPal payments can sometimes take hours to clear).

Note: We're still running into some issues checking for accounts that have expired in the past month, and there are still some instances where people are getting "you are ineligible" errors. We're working as fast as we can to fix these problems, so please be patient. I'll update this post again when I have more information.

Update: We've made a couple of changes for eligibility checks, so if you were getting the "you are ineligible" error before you should try again.

I have purchased the six months in order to get another two months, but I only got two weeks. It says: Simply return to this page after purchasing another six or twelve months. Well, I "simply" returned, and that only got me tow weeks. It's nice to see that NOW you tell us that payments have to be fully processed, here in a community that no one reads, instead of on the page where you make the offer.
As delighted as I was to see this offer, because my lj was not available for several days, and then availability was spotty at best, I am not getting my comment notifications and just yesterday it had disappeared completely, I am not really surprised that the two months extension thing didn't work out.
Would you please see that my lj time gets extended another 1 and 1/2 months in addition to the two weeks I got already? I didn't buy the six more month just for fun, I bought six months just a few weeks ago, so without the offer I would have waited a lot longer to spend money again.
Please let me know how you prodeed. I can understand that the actual extension takes some time, but I'd like to see that it is at least being worked on.

Lots of people read this journal, actually... Which is how people found out about this in the first place. Not trying to be a bitch, but just pointing out the 11 pages of comments that dispute that statement.

My paid account has expired on June 13. Am I eligible to any reimbursement?

My account expired only today, so I was wondering if I was still eligible. It tells me I'm not, which is why I'm asking, and it's no big deal really. I was just curious.

Regardless, you guys rock and I want to say thank you for all you do. I love my journal. *pets it*

My account expired on the 18th (I believe, if my email records are correct) and I am listed as ineligible. I may be misunderstanding the wording of this post, or I may not be. In either event, an investigation would be appreciated :)

Squee, this is pretty stuff. I take back every cuss word I've uttered about LJ in the recent days.

And I still say bring back invite codes. :D

I completely agree.

Maybe I'm just a snob, but... I'm sick of having three or four LJ names on my friends list all belonging to the same person.

Just out of curiousity, is the two month extension going to apply for those of us who were renewed from a gift? Someone else JUST bought me a year of paid time. I'm hoping I can stretch it even longer. ^_^;; *lol*

Yes. My last paid chunk was a gift because I couldn't get the cash in time and I didn't want to lose my features.

Question

I actually renewed earlier today before you posted this. Does this apply to me?

Very cool, btw!

Hi, I'm not sure if I'm eligible, as my paid account expired on the...21st, I believe? It didn't go all the way till the end of June, is why I'm not sure about my eligibility for the two free weeks. I went to the reimbursement page, but got nada. Thanks either way. :-)

Awesome! I was wondering what the deal was when lj wouldn't load. Just so you know, I will probably buy more now just to make up for those free two weeks. Why? You lj guys are awesome!

it's telling me I'm not eligible... I pay... so... could it be because I changed my journal name since then? I also paid for that. Just wondering... cuz obviously... I'd like my free time too :D
