Oh whew! Thank you. I just got one of those notifications, and I replied asking what the heck was going on. : ) Glad it was fixed.

Um... thanks. I have 419 emails in my box since 1:08 am.
I should take tomorrow off... :P
Oh... did I say 419? Make that 423. Grrr.
get online somehwere if you're around.
Ok! Great :-) I was so upset about it cuz I had paid for 2 new months and then boom, it got erased. But hopefully now it's all back!
that doggy piccer is soo cuteee he he
And I though the next email I'd get from you folks was that you were about to start patching for Y2K.
I was half expecting that myself...... though i like the theory of mice on mars expressed in here too.....
I just got my pd accound (two months agao)I just got my noticed today to renew it I was lost I'm glad that you fixed it:)
I only got my 12 month account yesterday. I am now back to being classified as a free user. Presumably I just missed out on the back-up. Should be easy enough to verify with Paypal?
Thank you so much for all of your hard work! I was a little worried when I got that email, but it's all good now. I love LJ, and we can forgive ya! ^_^

Yep, I'm guilty of responding too. My apologies for adding to your workload--even if it was only a little. I appreciate what you guys are doing and actually have a very good idea of just what kind of labor of love this has all become.
there are too many people online in the wee hours of the morning for 600+ eMails to have been sent in reply (including mine)...
i got my 'account expired two years ago' email before midnight, i think...
Apologies for responding to the notificiation. I hadn't realized right away that it was a systemwide-everybody thing, but I did know it was a glitch of some sort (I mean, 1999?)
Get some sleep. Lord knows you deserve it. Thanks for all your hard work and putting things back to rights ASAP. I know I speak for a lot of us when I say it's vastly appreciated.
I was wondering why someone sent me an email saying my account expired on 02-05-1999.. hehe
I too panicked and responded not realizing it was a system thing. I have stuff like this happen all too often and then have to wade through all this red tape and compile the evidence that I'm right and the records are wrong....while it's not nice for the programmers, it's a relief to me that this was something so easily fixed on my end of things. Wish there was some way I could help in terms of the log jam thing. If you want to send me email addresses I'll be glad to write people back and let them know it's a glitch and that you guys are fixing it...
get some sleep.
I guess not having a billion paid users was actually a good thing this time, eh?
a million thanks, sorry for the reply. one drop in the bucket, you know.
same here..sorry to add to the email traffic jam....
Lo Siento!!! But I very much appreciate the quick response!
Sorry I emailed. I guess I should have check LJ first!
re-open a ticket, it'll get looked at.
Yeah, got one of those emails this am and went berzerk! Dormando replied instantaneously and sent me to this tread.
Let's all give a hand to the LJ Developers! *claps enthusiastically and rises to a standing O*
You know, once I was at Oracle University and I was partnered with someone for the "Oracle DBA: Backup & Recovery" class. He kept telling me we didn't need to bother backing up the archive logs. I insisted we did. He won. We didn't. Instructor winked at me and ran script into our box. Database broke!
(Thank god for Telnet and grabbin someone else's archives from their 'Don't Touch' folder and substituting my box id for theirs!).
Anyways, I understand mistakes do happen. The ONLY online purchase I have ever made in four years of being on the net was to Live Journal...so, I was a little freaked out! YEAH LJ Developers and DORMANDO!!!!!!!
Sure and I was all excited that LJ had invented some sort of time-travel device.
Bugs happen, but you guys were right on it. Thanks for the hard work.
Thanks allot for the hard work in this yall rock!
