Thanks for getting this fixed. Having my automatic payments screwed up and my Paid Account deactivated was really annoying, but I'm glad it's online now.
Sorry to point a problem but.. I just got the e-mail to update my preferences and I noticed something wrong at the enter your credit card details screen:
The secure connection lock appears while the page is loading but disappears when it finishes. I'm not keen to re-enter my details without it.
Note the "https" part of the URL.
That means it's secure.
The cute cartoon padlock is just...that.
I just got mail:
We recently performed scheduled maintenance on our automatic payment system
to update our billing system. We were unable to fully migrate your account
data due to various discrepancies between the old and new system.
To reactivate automatic payments, you will need to re-enter your billing
So apparently updating the billing system means deleting my autopay info. Seriously what was the discrepancy between one billing env and another?

Some credit cards couldn't be migrated to the new payment system. That happened for a few reasons, like if the credit card was due to expire before the next payment cycle, or if some of the billing information was no longer valid, and that type of thing. You will still get your reminder email before your paid status expires, so you don't need to update this now if you don't want to.
Where do I go to get a refund of the $6 dollars I had to pay because the downtime meant I couldn't update my payment method and had to enter a manual payment? I mean, the original news post said you would be down for 2 days, which meant I could have updated it and paid the reduced cost. It took you nearly 2 weeks, which could have resulted in me losing all my paid account benefits. I don't think I should pay for your delay.
That's absolutely something you can open a billing inquiry
about. They'll be able to look it up and help you out.
I got an email reminder that my paid account was going to be renewed - I didn't want to resubscribe but could not turn the automatic payment feature off because it said any money was being taken manually at present. Fair enough, I thought, it won't take any money off me unless I do it manually.
Then today I got an email confirming that I've now paid for another year, but I didn't want to resubscribe. The reason I didn't cancel it earlier is because I totally forgot - a sign of how much chance I get to use LJ these days :p
I've sent an email to support, please refund me.

okay I've done searches - but can't seem to find anything that address the 'messages' feature of LJ accounts - I have the messages sent to my email account HOWEVER it leaves a copy on my LJ acct as well and it takes forever to clear the messages out 15 messages at a time - is there anyway to stop the copies from going to my LJ messages or is there an easier way to clear out the messages?
I REALLY do NOT like whatever you have done to prevent being able to send messages. There are times when a private message is better than posting to someone's comments.
What's up? I used to be able to click on a member icon and be offered the choice of sending a message, looking at their profile and whatever. Now it just sits there and says "loading" and no choices ever show.
How the heck do I check my email???

What's up with not derliviner V-Gifts ??? !!!
This is the third time that I bought V-gifts for friends and they never get delivered, because I use Paypal and Firefox. LJ does not mention this. Marta said once about there being a bug with LJ, Paypal and a plug-in with Firefox yet she never said which plug-in.
I used to buy almost all my friends V-gifts for their birthday. Now these gifts were for people ill and to cheer some others up. Today they were supposed to show up. And they took the money, but no V-gifts.
Yes I left a support request like I did for the last two times and it is just sitting there. Has this happened to anyone else? This one important way a perm member can still support this site, I just can't believe they have not addressed this yet.
I am posting this in an old post because LJ does not really update this community hardly anymore :(
