How far is PST from Grinwich?
Mmm, I renewed my account on June 30th. Is this only for new accounts, or for renewals as well? It's telling me I'm not eligible for any free time.
The page I got said I could have a two weeks extension because I already had a paid account "OR, if you purchase a new 6 or 12 month paid account between now and 2004-07-08, you will be eligible for a 2 month extension."
I picked up my reimbursement, thank you!
would this work for my community which has paid 'donations' coming in daily? how would i go about claiming the reimbursement for the comm?
Log on as the comm account and go to the link above. It should work.
Or if you used the same e-mail address, use the 'Switch' to chnage the journal/communities
Thanks for the reminder! I almost forgot! Will have to do that tonight. :)
LJ rocks! Sweet deal!!!!!!!
ur gross! haha, sweet deal is so five minutesa ago
I paid for my husbands account the same time I did mine. I got the two free months but he has not...what gives there?
I renewed on 6-5!
**runs away to cry**
sucks to be folks who renewed right before the time of getting 2 months.
when i claimed mine, i only got 2 weeks... but i bought my account during that time period so shouldn't i get 2 months?
The offer is specifically:
If you had a paid account between june 1 and june 30, then you have the following choice:
1) accept two weeks absolutely free
2) buy a 6 or 12 month paid account in the next 7 days and get 2 months instead.
Since you chose option 1, you won't be able to do option 2.
I bought a year membership on the evening of 6-29. If I had known I would have waited in order to pick up the extra 2 months. Is there anyway for someone who bought a membership so close to the 30th to be eligible? If not, it's not that important. I do love LJ, which is why I
finally paid. *g*
Ah, thanks. I'll get my check in the mail. ;)
I just paid for another year of my journal, and at the same time I decided to turn three of the communities I run into paid journals too. My personal account got the two month offer - but if I use the 'Work as user' selection and change to one of those paid journals, they don't. Should they?
no, not if they weren't paid accounts between june 1-30
I just renewed my paid account for one year but did not get to a page with the option to extend for two months. I was told by the screen that my renewal had been successful but couldn't find a way to claim the two months! help?
. Once your order is full processed and funds received, the 2 week button will change to a 2 month button.
This may take some time, depending on the payment method you chose. (though your particular order is complete now so the 2 month button should be there)
I have a question. I just got the extra two months for myself. and I signed out of my screen name and went in another paid journal I have and it told me I wasn't eligible under the second screen name for any free time.
Can someone tell me why it's works on one, but not the other?
The other screen name must have been a paid account during the relevant time periods. (June 1-30).

Not being granted comp time
I am still being told I am ineligible for the two weeks comp-time.
I don't know if this is because some gifted me with another two months, or some other reason (and I am willing to forego it, but if I am not entitled to it I would like a more specific explantion than merely being told I am not eligible... because as far as I can see [an account paid for until next Sept.,paid for, and used, at the time of the service problem for which the compensation is being offered, I am eligible for the time.

Re: Not being granted comp time
You didn't have a paid account between the relevant times: 2004-05-31 00:00:00 and 2004-06-30 00:00:00 PST. I see you processed an order ON the 30th, but the cutoff time was at midnight on the night of the 29th.
I claimed the 2 weeks, THEN I got a year as a gift. That's not really fair that some people got 2 weeks and the people that didn't click the box get 2 months... sort of unfair and tricky if you ask me.
It's not tricky. At the time you were given an option two weeks or renew and get two months. There's nothing tricky about that. Besides you just got a year as a gift, so that's a year and 2 weeks for free. Nothing to complain about there.
This offer reminds me of cell phone companies that give the presents to their new customers. Just like that commercial where they give the new paint kit to the new kindergartener, because she's new, and special.
What about people who've had paid accounts for a long time? And wasn't there supposed to be some sort of compensation for when the site decided to be free (and not need any more invite codes) since paid members had all these codes, but nothing to use them for?
You still get a 2 free weeks for having a paid account. I don't really see why that's something to complain about.
uhm... i got a 12 month subscription 2 days ago... im not eligible? what gives?
because LJ wasn't sucky 2 days ago- it was 2 weeks ago.
They are making up for that.
If it gets sucky again, I'm sure they'll give you the chance too.
I realize this isn't related to this particular post, but I seem to recall a post somewhere that allowed people to redeem their friend codes for coupons. I dont believe I ever got around to redeeming mine, and now I can't find the post, or the link anywhere. Can you direct me to the post?
Thank you for the extra paid time, that was awesome.
As for the whiners..you're really unreal. They didn't have to offer this time for a problem that was not directly their fault. They fixed it as soon as possible AND decided to tack on some extra time. I can't think of any other place that would do this. I can't imagine a place like E-bay offering some kind of reward because their site got slow for a day or two. Take what you are given, be greateful, and shut up. No one is trying to trick you or whatever by giving away FREE time. Ugh. /rant.
Thank you! I can't figure out what exactly people are complaining about. Even if they didn't get the 2 months they still got 2 weeks, how can one complain about two weeks of free time.
